Cast of ‘Dancing With the Stars’ Season 22 Revealed
Tuesday on Good Morning America, the cast for the 22nd season of Dancing with the Stars was unveiled. Not surprisingly, the cast includes a variety of marquee names, being composed of a good mix of both new stars and familiar faces.
Highlighting the list is a trio of current or former NFL stars in Von Miller, Antonio Brown, and Doug Flutie. Miller is currently the toast of the NFL after being named the MVP of Super Bowl 50 as part of the Denver Broncos world championship. Brown, who plays for the Pittsburgh Steelers, is arguably the best wide receiver in football at the moment. Finally, Flutie is a 53-year old retired quarterback who threw one of the most famous passes in football history while at Boston College before a 20-year pro career in the USFL, CFL, and NFL.
One final athlete joining the cast is UFC fighter Paige VanZant, as 21-year old rising star in women’s mixed martial arts.
Th new season of Dancing with the Stars also features a quartet of actresses. Mischa Barton, best known for her lead role on The O.C., may be the most recognizable name. Jodie Sweeten, who is back in the public spotlight due to the Netflix series Fuller House, is also part of the cast. The DWTS cast also includes Kim Fields, best known for The Facts of Life and Living Single, and Marla Maples, although she is better known for being the ex-wife Republican Presidential frontrunner Donald Trump than for her acting.
Other entertainers in the cast include Wanya Morris of the R&B group Boyz II Men, as well as Good Morning America‘s own Ginger Zee, who is set to return to GMA next Monday after giving birth to her first son.
Rounding out the cast is Nyle DiMarco, the won America’s Best Top Model last year, and Geraldo Rivera, owner of the most famous mustache in American journalism.
Last season, DWTS was won by Bindi Irwin, the daughter of the late Steve Irwin. With the cast lined up for this season, there’s no telling who will follow Irwin as the next winner of Dancing with the Stars.
